Essential Requirements for Certi cation:
Marking and labelling
The marking shall be legibly and durably marked on each product The Language of marking is as per applicable SASO, Regional, and International Standards. All markings pertaining to warnings and safety instructions shall be in Arabic or both Arabic and English. In the absence of any standards, markings can be accepted in Arabic or English except warnings and safety instructions shall be in Arabic or both Arabic and English.
All products shall be marked clearly with the country of origin.
Other marking requirements apply depending on the type of product/ speci c standard requirement etc.
Instruction manuals must be in Arabic or in Arabic and English for goods being sold to consumers.
Regulated products
All products are regulated with the exception of: Medical equipment, Medical products, Food and Military related products.
The following are the high risk products: Sockets, Plugs and Adapters, Extension Cords, Mobile Chargers, Hair Dryers, Vehicle Spare Parts (Oil Filer, Air Filter, Fuel Filter and Brake Pad), Electric Water Heaters, Electric Heaters, Car Tyres and Children's Toys.
The following products are covered under EER requirements:
Air conditioner, Washing Machine, Refrigerator, Freezer, Electric Lamps, Electric Motor and Vehicle Tyres.
Fees
• TheCoCfeesbasicallycoverthecostofevaluation,shipment inspection and certi cate issuance. All other fees are paid separately by the party requesting certi cation.
