UGANDA
CERTIFICATE OF CONFORMITY
The Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS) has implemented guidelines called the Pre-Export Veri cation of Conformity (PVoC) to Standards Programme.
It is a Conformity Assessment and Veri cation procedure applied to speci c goods/products in the exporting country, to ensure their compliance with applicable Ugandan Technical Regulations and Mandatory Standards or approved equivalents.
Consignments subject to PVoC must obtain a Certi cate of Conformity (CoC) for Customs clearance in Uganda.
The key elements undertaken in Ugandan Certi cation are:
• Physicalinspectionpriortoshipment
• Sampling,testingandanalysisinaccreditedlaboratories • Qualityauditofproductionprocesses
• Documentaryreviewofconformitywithregulations
• Assessmentofconformitytostandards
To apply for a Certi cate of Conformity you will need to supply Intertek with:
• CompletedRequestforCerti cation(RfC)Form,which is available on our website
• AcopyofCommercial/FinalInvoice
• LetterofCredit(L/C),ifavailable
• Quality Management System Certi cates (ISO 9001, ISO
22000, ISO/TS 16949 etc.), if available
• Test Documents such as Test Reports, Test Certi cates,
etc.
• Packinglist,BillofLading,ifavailable
• AccountApplicationFormapplicablefornewclients
Upon receipt of the above listed documents, Intertek will arrange with you a mutually convenient date, time and location for the shipment inspection to be carried out.
This can normally be arranged within a maximum of 48 hours of your initial call to us. Your CoC will then be issued within a maximum of 24 hours of the inspection if the results are satisfactory.
For regular shipment of the same products to Uganda you may nd it bene cial to apply for Registration/Licensing.
