CERTIFICATE OF INSPECTION
The Ministry of Industry and Foreign Trade in Egypt recently issued two new decrees (991/2015 & 43/2016) which took e ect from 16th March 2016.
These Decrees introduce signi cant changes to the import clearance procedure and also the expansion of the list of Regulated Products. Manufacturers or Trademark Owners of Regulated Products must be registered with Egypt’s General Organisation of Export and Import Control (GOEIC) to export to Egypt.
Intertek is registered and approved by GOIEC to issue the Certi cate of Inspection (CoI).
Regulated product consignments have to be veri ed for compliance to relevant Egyptian sanctioned standards and essential requirements.
To apply for a Certi cate of Conformity you will need to supply Intertek with:
• CompletedRequestforCerti cation(RfC)Form,which is available on our website
• AcopyofCommercialInvoice
• Letter of Credit (L/C), if available
• TestDocumentssuchasTestReports,TestCerti cates,etc. • Packinglist,BillofLading
• AccountApplicationFormapplicablefornewclients
The compliance veri cation process will involve:
• Physical Inspection
• Sample testing or submission of test reports from
ISO/IEC 17025 accredited Laboratories.
For exporters making regular shipments of the same product to Egypt you may nd it bene cial to also apply for Registration/Licensing.
