Essential Requirements for Certi cation:
Regulated Products
All products are regulated under SONCAP with the exception of the following products that are listed in the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) circular:
• FoodProducts
• Drugs(Medicines)
• MedicalProducts(otherthanequipmentandmachines)
• ChemicalsusedasRawMaterialbybona demanufacturers
• MilitaryWareandEquipment
• Goodsclassi edascontrabandbytheFederalGovernment
of Nigeria
• Usedproductsotherthanautomobiles
Fees
• Applicablefeesarepaidbythepartyrequestingcerti cation.
The SC fees basically cover the cost of evaluation, shipment inspection and certi cate issuance. All other fees pertaining to testing, quality audit, etc are paid separately by the party requesting certi cation.
