CONFORMITY DOCUMENT
The Government of the State of Qatar, through the Qatar Ministry of Business and Trade - Department of Consumer Protection and the Qatar General Organisation for Standards and Metrology (QGOSM), has issued a set of strict rules regulating the import of Vehicle Spare Parts, Perfumery and Cosmetic products, Toys, some Electrical products etc.
The Circular issued by the Authority states that the, “Qatari Custom authority will not allow the import of the regulated products, unless they are accompanied by an evidence of conformity such as Conformity Documents, Test Reports, etc issued by an approved body from the country of supply”. The Circular also stated that, in case of non-compliance of the shipment to the applicable Qatar/GSO standards, the shipment will not be permitted to enter Qatar.
Conformity Documents issued by Intertek for regulated product shipments are recognised by QGOSM/Qatari Customs for the clearance of such shipment on arrival at Qatar Ports/Borders.
To apply for a Conformity Document you will need to supply Intertek with:
• CompletedRequestforCerti cation(RfC)Form,which is available on our website
• AcopyofCommercialInvoice
• LetterofCredit(L/C),ifavailable
• Test Documents such as Test Reports, Test Certi cates, etc. • Packing list, Bill of Lading, if available
• AccountApplicationFormapplicablefornewclients
Upon receipt of above mentioned documents, Intertek will assign an Inspector to visit and conduct an on-site inspection. On successful review and Conformity Assessment of the test reports and inspection result, Intertek will issue the Conformity Document.
For exporters making regular shipments of the same product to Qatar you may nd it bene cial to also apply for Registration/Licensing.
