CONFORMITY CERTIFICATE
Exporters to Botswana must comply with the requirements of the Botswana Bureau
of Standards (BOBS) and Standards Import Inspections Regulations (SIIR) in order for their goods to clear Customs.
The Botswana SIIR has been implemented by BOBS to assure Botswana consumers of the quality and safety of imported goods and to facilitate trade. ‘Regulated Products’ exported to Botswana that are within the programme require a Conformity Certi cate which veri es, in the respective exporting countries, that the products comply with the applicable Botswana Technical Regulations and mandatory Standards or Approved Equivalent International/National Standards.
Intertek has been accredited by BOBS to issue the Conformity Certi cates. Intertek o ers shipment certi cation services to exporters for Botswana under
the SIIR programme. All Certi cation will be performed by Intertek Country O ces depending on the exporter’s choice and convenience.
To apply for a Conformity Certi cate you will need to supply Intertek with:
• CompletedRequestforCerti cation(RfC)Form,which is available on our website
• AcopyofCommercial/FinalInvoice
• TestDocumentssuchasTestReports,TestCerti cates,
NRCS-LOA Certi cates, etc.
• Packing list, Bill of Lading, if available
• Account Application Form applicable for new clients Upon receipt of the above listed documents, Intertek will arrange with you a mutually convenient date, time and location for the shipment inspection to be carried out.
For regular shipment of the same products to Botswana you may nd it bene cial to apply for a Product Certi cate.
