TECHNICAL INSPECTION REPORT
The Public Authority for Industry of the State of Kuwait (PAI) has implemented guidelines to verify the conformity of all ‘Regulated Products’ being exported to Kuwait’.
Exports to Kuwait of these products require a Technical Inspection Report (TIR) to clear Customs.
The scheme in brief:
• Allconsignmentsofimportedgoodsthatinclude regulated products must be accompanied by a TIR for Customs clearance
• TheTIRisrequiredtoensuresmoothCustomsclearance of shipments in Kuwait
• TheTIRcon rmsthatthegoodscomplywithKuwaiti importation regulations
• TheauthoritiesinKuwaitmaytakerandomsamples from imported consignments to verify compliance
To apply for TIR you will need to provide Intertek with:
• CompletedRequestforCerti cation(RfC)Form,which is available on our website
• TechnicalEvaluationReport(TER)orTestDocuments for the products being certi ed
• GulfEvaluationReport(GER)forlowvoltageelectrical products covered under Gulf Technical Regulations or Gulf Type Examination Certi cate
• AcopyofCommercialInvoice
• LetterofCredit(L/C),ifavailable
• Packing list, Bill of Lading, if available
• Account Application Form applicable for new clients
For exporters making regular shipments of the same product to Kuwait, you may nd it bene cial to rst apply for a TER/GER. The TER/GER con rms that the products have been evaluated to and comply with the relevant Kuwait standards and approved international/regional/national standards. The TER/GER are issued one-time and renewed regularly based on the validity of products listed within it.
Having a TER/GER will ensure faster issuance of the TIR since repeated evaluation of test documents will not be required.
Depending on the product being exported Intertek may also need to carry out following prior to shipment:
• PhysicalInspection
• ProductSampling,testingandanalysisinoneofour accredited laboratories (if not issued with a TER)
